Poetic License Bar

A large popular bar on the seafront, located at the Roker Hotel, with a great atmosphere. It serves soul food and a varied range of delicious cocktails and craft beers. The bar is also home to its own gin distillery in the back of the bar.

Ever wanted to browse vinyl record collections, admire paintings, drawings, sculptures from local artists and have one of the best cups of coffee in Sunderland all at the same time? Now you can. Pop Recs Ltd is an independent record shop, which also has an art gallery, shop and steaming cups of coffee.

Port of Call

Port of Call is located in the heart of the city centre and offers three floors of hearty meat, stunning seafood and over 40 different rums. Using locally sourced beef and seafood and with its interior design playing homage to Sunderland's shipbuilding heritage, Port of Call is the place to go for a night out in Sunderland.

Roma

Sambuca

Sue's Café

A popular family run beachside café and takeaway serving hot and cold food and beverages. Located on the lower promenade at Roker directly opposite a play park, Sue's Café is popular with families, walkers and cyclists enjoying the seafront vista. It is also a C2C (Coast to Coast) stamp station for cyclists who traditionally finish the route by dipping their cycles in the North Sea at Roker.

The Chesters

The Chesters offers a great menu of pub food including hearty breakfasts, sandwiches, pub favourites and desserts. There is also a children's menu available at good value. There are many special offers at this pub, including 2 for 1 curry nights, and themed nights so it is worth checking their website prior to your visit.
