Great Outdoors

Cycling in Herrington Country Park

Sunderland's award-winning outdoor spaces offer lots to see and do for the whole family. Its stunning coastal scenery provides a wonderful seaside playground for adults and children alike. With acres of green space and award-winning parks and nature reserves - it's out and about in the great outdoors where Sunderland really comes into its own.

During the current situation, popular beauty spots across the city can get very crowded and whilst the risk of catching Covid-19 is lower outside, there is still a risk. If the place you take your daily exercise is busy, please find somewhere else local to go, or maybe try a different time. Take advantage and explore the outdoor spaces on your doorstep. Also remember to make space, cover your face when necessary and wash your hands regularly.
