Heat Network Zoning
Sunderland is one of 28 pilot cities working with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as part of their Heat Network Zoning Pilot Programme.
To assist with the Programme, BEIS have appointed WSP to work with Sunderland City Council to collate data and information related to heat consumption, energy demand and heating systems, local heat sources and we're seeking to engage with large local industry and commercial businesses regarding their energy consumption. Participating in the Programme will allow us to properly evaluate what Heat Network Zoning could mean for Sunderland, helping to ensure the City and its businesses can decarbonise in the most economically efficient way possible.
Businesses meeting the criteria set out by BEIS are being encouraged to submit relevant information via WSP's UK Heat Networks website, where you will find more information and a link to the survey.
